SCOTT LAVENE SUPERCLEAN
In the final single from the upcoming album Broken (due for release June 7th 2019) Scott Lavene drops a stunningly diverse tune in ‘Superclean’. The eclectic mix of styles the tune presents comes from the influences the singer was presented with during the 80s. Of ‘Superclean’ he says “I like everything from cheesy pop, hip hop, British music from sixties and seventies Ian Dury, to underground stuff like Suicide and the Membranes. When I first had a band, I tried to be something I’m not: cool, hip. indie, like the Kills or The Strokes but I’m not cool and I don’t write songs like that”. With a backbone of solid material and an upcoming album full of, presumably similarly solid material, be sure to look out for Lavene’s May-June UK tour. -Dan Peeke
